Who we are
The Molesworth is independently owned and run by us, Andrew and Lee — a husband-and-wife team, supported by our grown-up children and occasionally supervised by our two dogs.
We took on The Molesworth because we wanted to create something we genuinely care about: a small, dining-led countryside restaurant, bar and place to stay, shaped by thoughtful hospitality, flavour-driven food and a slower, more relaxed way of doing things.
After decades of global travel and senior corporate careers, we chose a different kind of life — one centred on welcoming people properly, cooking food we believe in, and creating evenings where guests can settle in, talk, laugh and enjoy themselves without feeling rushed.
What we are building here is very deliberate.
The Molesworth is not trying to be everything to everyone. Our menu is intentionally small, carefully chosen and prepared with care. Our opening hours are limited by design, so we can focus on quality, consistency and the kind of relaxed experience we would want ourselves.
We value doing things properly, treating people warmly and creating an atmosphere that feels special without being formal. A place for good food, good wine, conversation and unhurried evenings with friends.
We hope The Molesworth becomes somewhere you return to — not just for a meal or a stay, but for the feeling of being genuinely welcomed and well looked after.
